Plainfield Lions Club Donation to Vista Learning to Benefit Students in Plainfield SD 202

June 6, 2018, JOLIET, IL – The Plainfield Lions Club has supported Vista Learning and their Computers 2 Kids program with a generous donation of $1,000. Computers 2 Kids provides computers to students who have a need for a computer in Will, Grundy and Kendall Counties. Students are nominated by a district administrator. The Plainfield Lions donation will benefit students in Plainfield School District 202.
The Computers 2 Kids program supports students who have a desire to learn and succeed. Over the past nine years, the Plainfield Lions Club has donated $3,450 to Vista Learning thus making it possible for 25 computers to be placed in the homes of District 202 students.

“The Plainfield Lions Club has a long history of supporting the schools in our community,” said Larry Wiers, Vista Learning Board Member and a member of the Plainfield Lions Club. “We are pleased to support Vista Learning in their mission to place a computer in the homes of deserving students. Through the generosity of our Plainfield Lions Club, 25 families in District 202 are now enjoying the educational benefits of their new computer.”
Students who receive the computers have been identified and recommended by their school principals and teachers as those who will benefit academically. The next Computers 2 Kids giveaway will happen in December 2018. There have been 671 computers donated to students in Will, Grundy and Kendall Counties as of May 2018.

Donations of used computers and financial donations are accepted from generous individuals and companies who wish to help. If you have a computer or monitor you would like to donate, or if you are able to make a monetary donation to purchase parts to refurbish computers, please contact Vista Learning at 815-725-5510. A tax receipt is provided.
